What is an Energy Performance Certificate?
An EPC is an assessment of both the energy efficiency and the environmental impact of a building. It gives the property a rating from A to G for both energy efficiency and environmental impact, with A being the best and G the worst.

How do I get an EPC?
We will send one of our accredited energy assessors to your property, who will produce an EPC, which will suggest improvements you could undertake to make your home more energy efficient.

How long is an EPC valid for?
An EPC remains valid for a period of 10 years or until such time as a new EPC is lodged for the same address.

How much does an EPC cost?
The price varies across England and Wales, for different property types and for different providers. If you are a landlord, solicitor or estate agent requiring multiple EPCs for a number of properties, discounted rates are available.

How long will it take to produce my EPC?
An EPC inspection can usually be arranged within 48 hours. The certificate and recommendation report will follow within three working days of the inspection and payment. The inspection itself can take between 45 and 75 minutes, depending on the size and nature of the property.

Do I need to be there while an inspection takes place?
In the case of vacant properties, we are happy to perform the inspection unaccompanied. Otherwise, we would prefer that the homeowner, tenant, landlord or landlord’s agent is in attendance.
