Disabled Access Assessment

Energy Footprint provides Disabled Access Assessments (DAAs) on the communal areas of buildings.  The assessments are designed to help landlords understand how suitable their buildings are in terms of disabled access, what could be improved, and to match properties to the individual requirements of tenants.  All reports can be accessed online, and our unique traffic light display system provides an instant summary of a building’s overall suitability in comparison to other buildings in the same geographical area.

The Equality Act 2010 places a duty on landlords and managers of premises to ensure that communal areas are made accessible, where reasonable.  This is a new requirement, and providers of social housing should ensure that this duty is taken into account when modernising or refurbishing premises or estates.

Our assessments covers 7 key aspects of a building:

  • Arrival
  • Entrances
  • Circulation
  • Ramps
  • Stairs
  • Lifts
  • Other Considerations

Our assessments, similar to our Fire Risk Assessments, are lodged on our online system for instant access by our clients and can be viewed alongside the Fire Risk Assessment for the building and general information on the description, use, and construction of the building, together with a picture of the front elevation.  Further pictures are included in the report to illustrate the key issues/features.

When conducted at the same time as a Fire Risk Assessment, we are able to offer the Disabled Access Assessment at a significant discount, an opportunity that many of our clients take advantage of.
